Freddie Green, guitarist with the Basie band for decades, established a signature style of guitar comping. Often Green would use raised 2+3 voicings with the top voice omitted. This gave spares, economical voicings used as much for rhythmic drive as for harmonic content. Below are examples of these voicings. Note that the entire raised 2+3 voicing is given with the omitted note included as a hollow circle. Following the raised 2+3 voicings are raised 2 voicings. Using the 'build a chord system' it would be wise to create raised 2+4 voicings as well as voicings for harmonies not covered here such as diminished, whole tone etc.
